Funny Incident

I was in training for a pharma company,when this incident had happened.Now whenever i think about it, it brings back big smile on my face.I would like to share this funny incident with you.

I had a friend named shantanu(name changed)from orissa(india) in training.On the first day of our training,our training instructor introduced himself.Later he started asking few questions to our group.One friend in the group was from north India.So,the instructor asked him the question in Hindi(National language).My friend from north india answered it.

Next the instructor came to shantanu who was from orissa.The instructor asked him a question in Hindi.Shantanu couldn't reply as he didn't know hindi at that point of time.The instructor asked shantanu "did you know hindi"? Shantanu replied "no sir".The instructor thought to take the help of someone who knew oriya language.

None of us knew the language.He searched the staff & found a person who knew oriya.He called that person & started explaining him in English what to ask to shantanu.In the middle of this conversation,my friend shantanu spoke & replied the question posed by the instructor.

Everybody including the instructor looked towards shantanu in shock.The instructor asked him "why didn't you reply earlier when i had asked you did you know hindi?

Shantanu replied innocently to the instructor that you asked me whether i know Hindi or not.You did n't ask me whether i know English or not?

Suddenly all the group members started laughing.The instructor could n't believe this & started laughing.The instructor said we could have saved 15minutes if you had replied earlier or if i had used little common sense.
