Tour To Southern Karnantaka

Last week along with my family,i had a tour of beautiful places of southern karnataka.It was a three day tour where we planned to see some divine places.
we first visited Sirsi,a town famous for GODDESS Shri Marikamba.

Next we visited Idgunji,a place famous for Lord GANESHA.In India,before we begin any new work or project,we pray to Lord GANESHA for success.

From there we visited to Murdeshwar.It is famous for big idol of Lord SHIVA.It is also having big Gopuram(239 feet).we enjoyed the launch ride in the sea.

The next destination in our tour was Kollur to see Goddess MUKAMBIKA temple.After having prasadhem(food offered by temple),we left to udapi & stayed there at night


Next morning,we had darshana of Lord KRISHNA.You can see the temple above.We offered our prayer there & left to our destination:Suryagram.

Suryagram is very beautiful place & surrounded by hills.The place has ancient history.It is said whatever wish you have,you pray there SINCERELY and it will be fulfilled within a year.After your wish is fulfilled,you need to donote a clay made object of your wish.

From there we reached to Dharamstala.It is famous for temple of Lord MANJUNATH swami.It is visited by lakhs of devotees from various parts of country.The arrangements made by the authorities(SDM) are excellent.From Dharamstala there is a temple of Lord Shri RAM.You can have a look at it below.

There is a place called kuke Subramania.It is 60 kms from Dharamstala.The temple is surrounded by hills.There is a river besides the temple.This place is full of natural beauty.You can see the temple above.There is a temple of Lord GANESHA on the way back to Dharamstala.It has big idol of Lord GANESHA.

WE stayed at Dharamstala for the night.Next day,we left to Hornadu.The trip from Dharamstala to Hornadu is simply can't be expressed in words.The route goes through hilly areas full of natural beauty.

We enjoyed the beautiful scenes at the Hornadu temple.The temple is famous for GODDESS ANNAPURNESHWARI.We offered our prayer there & had prasadhem.

From there we reached a place called Ballehonnur.Here the temple is centuries old.It is famous for Lord VEERBADRESWARA.There is a faith attached to the temple here.Several centuries ago,a Rishi(Godman) craved a picture of Lord NANDI with aches in one of the pillars of temple.Since then,the Lord NANDI is growing in the pillar.It is said that when both the eyes of Lord NANDI appears,then the Rishi(Godman) will reincarnate.Already one eye has appeared.It is a strong faith here that if you sit next to Lord NANDI & pray,then all your wishes will be fulfilled.

We reached to a place called Sringeri.It is famous for Goddess SHARADA MATA's temple.Goddess SHARADA is the GOD of education.Here parents come with their young children.The Priest here make the childrens to write first letter of alphabet.It is a faith that children should start their education life from here.

The temple is situated at the bank of river Thunga.It also has got a beautiful garden.

We throughly enjoyed the tour of southern karnanatka.By visiting these beautiful places,I again reconnected with nature & GOD.It is wisely said"we are a part of nature & whenever we spend time with nature,we become more alive.I think once a year we should enjoy the company of nature.
